The San Diego Invaders had a double header today at Madison, playing the first game against Mission Jackrabbits and the second game against Hawks. In the first game, the Invaders defeated Mission Jackrabbits, 6-4.
Jack Stemm delivered 5 quality innings until he was caught by Jackrabbits' offense in the sixth. Andrew Savoy was called upon in a bases-loaded situation with two outs and rescued his team from the difficulty.
Turning to the offense, Jacob Benson, who just came back to play for the Invaders, contributed to 2 of the 4 runs with 2 for 4 performance. More interestingly, Chris O'Neil delivered 3 RBI to earn a victory for the game.
In the game 2, the Invaders dominated the Hawks from the beginning. The defense was very tight in the second game which prevented Hawks from having additional runs. The offensive outputs was also outstanding that they produced 9 runs while the Hawks were only able to have 2 runs (Final Score 9-2).
Jacob Chacon threw 4 innings and gave up only 2 runs. After they took a huge lead in the game, they sent Taiga Hatashima and Justin Webb to put zeros on the scoreboard. Both of them threw exact two scoreless innings.
Leo Clarke put quality at bats in the second game by having a 3 for 4 performance day with 3 RBI. He has recently committed to play for Grossmont Community College from this fall and is excited to play as a member of the Grossmont Grffins.
The Invaders will now take off days until the brackets for the Playoff is released.

Leo Clarke ties up the 2018 San Diego All Star Game in top of 9th Inning

Alec Celiceo’s RBI in the tenth inning helped the Nationals beat the Americans 2-1 in the third annual SDCCL All-Star game on Wednesday.
Each member of the All-Star teams was selected due to his superior statistics from the regular season.
Neither team was able to get on the scoreboard until the bottom of the fourth inning.
That’s when Nicholas Rhoades hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Kyle Boudreaux.
The score was now 1-0 in favor of the Americans.
After eight innings of no runs, it looked like the Americans were going to win the game on Rhoades sacrifice fly.
It was the only score of the game until the ninth inning.
Then Brandon Fragoso singled in the top of the ninth inning to bring home Clarke who walked to first, then aggressively stealing

2nd and third base putting him in prime scoring position ready for Fragoso to bring him in. Fragoso went 3-for-4 with an RBI on the

day.  The score was now tied 1-1.
After a quiet half inning by the Americans, the game headed into extra innings.
In the top of the tenth, Celiceo hit into a fielder’s choice to bring home Fragoso, making the score 2-1.
The Americans were unable to score in the bottom of the tenth and the Nationals won the game 2-1.
Ridgewell led the Nationals with a solid performance on the mound, and was followed by Najee-Peat Davis and eventually Celiceo.
Regular season play resumes tomorrow when the Jackrabbits take on the Rattlers at 1:30 p.m. at Montgomery High School. http://www.pointstreaksites.com/view/sdccl/news-1147/news_506671
